The details.

Silicone rings are the sensible pick when you need something on your finger but can't risk a metal ring — farm work, fishing, rugby, the gym. This one is made from medical-grade silicone: it stretches, flexes, won't snag on machinery, and won't conduct electricity. Available in 8.7mm — Ring avulsion — where a metal ring catches and injures your hand — is a real risk in manual work. A silicone ring breaks away instead of taking your finger with it. Comfortable all day, easy to wash, and tough enough for whatever you get up to. Use it on the farm, save the metal ring for town.

Living with the textured metallic grey band

The metallic finish is moulded into the silicone, not painted on, so it will not flake at the textured peaks. Rinse after gym work to clear chalk and sweat from the texture grooves.

Sizing an 8.7mm silicone band

8.7mm is wide for a silicone band — order true to your usual metal size, do not size up. Wider silicone grips the finger more, not less. Free NZ sizer on request.

Textured silicone vs smooth silicone

Texture grips under gloves and hides scuffs but holds more sweat in the grooves. Pick smooth for office wear, this for the gym or workshop. See the silicone rings for smooth options.

Q: Will the metallic look fade?

A: The pigment is dispersed through the silicone, so wear cannot strip a coating off. The finish stays consistent across years.

Q: Good for kayaking and surfing?

A: Yes — saltwater does not affect medical-grade silicone. Rinse with fresh water after to clear salt from the texture.

Q: Too wide for slim fingers?

A: 8.7mm reads bold. If your knuckle is narrow relative to your finger pad, try a 6mm silicone instead.

Ring looks great but when it arrived it looks more forest green than grey. Still has the same design so still happy with it but hopefully update their pictures to match what you receive

Great service great product.

I was really impressed with the sealed packaging and impressed with the ring, it wasn’t exactly like the pic but still very nice looking. Shipping to NZ was pretty quick considering we are nearly coming to Christmas. Was just a shame I got the wrong size. Hubby doesn’t wear his original ring due to work and sports so I thought this would be a good substitute, however I didn’t realise his finger was thinner from when we first got married. So you would be better to measure the finger not a ring. I’m yet to start the exchange process but I’m hoping that will go without any issues.

Not a great depiction of what the ring really looks like. Not the first time I have bought a ring from these guys that looks nothing like the image on the website. The ring seems to be good quality though.
However, to be fair, their service in rectifying the previous matter was very prompt and very easy.

Great quality product, looks great!

Replaced my husbands titanium wedding band with the silicone ring and he loves it. He’s able to wear it everyday and safely work with all the power tools he needs during the day. Highly recommended!

Good product with excellent packaging perfect for a gift

Amazing product and extremely comfortable...
Thank you!
Will definitely purchase all further products through Mens Rings Online.

Caring for your Silicone ring

Wash your silicone ring with mild soap and water, rinse thoroughly and let the ring and your skin dry before putting it back on. Avoid solvents, excessive heat and prolonged direct sunlight.

Inspect the band for damage or stretching and replace it when needed. Silicone can tear, but a ring is not protective equipment and does not guarantee protection from injury. Follow your workplace rules and remove jewellery where the task requires it.

Common questions about Silicone rings

Are silicone rings safe for tradies and dairy farmers in NZ?

Silicone is flexible, but no ring is a safety device. Do not assume silicone is permitted wherever metal rings are banned. Follow your workplace rules and task-specific safety instructions, and remove jewellery where required. We do not claim a certified tear force or protection from ring-avulsion injuries.

How long does a silicone wedding ring last?

Lifespan varies with fit, wear and exposure to heat or chemicals. Check your ring regularly and replace it if it tears, stretches or becomes damaged.

Can I wear a silicone ring in the ocean or hot pools?

Rinse the ring after contact with saltwater or pool water, then dry it and your skin thoroughly. Avoid excessive heat and follow the rules of the activity or venue. We do not provide a certified temperature rating for these rings.

Will a silicone ring trigger a skin reaction?

Any ring can trap moisture or irritate skin. Keep the ring and your skin clean and dry, and stop wearing it if irritation occurs. Seek advice from a health professional if symptoms persist.

Considering alternatives?

For a lightweight metal option for everyday wear, explore titanium rings. Choose a ring for comfort and style, and follow workplace or activity rules about when to remove jewellery.
