Carbon fibre is the technical choice — built like a racing car panel, incredibly light, and with a woven pattern that's genuinely structural rather than cosmetic. This ring is lighter than titanium with serious rigidity and a modern industrial look. Available in 7mm — Non-conductive and hypoallergenic. The textured carbon surface handles daily knocks better than polished metals. Good for Kiwi blokes who want something that looks high-performance and actually is — whether you're into motorsport, outdoor gear, or just appreciate quality engineering.

Sterling silver (925) is 92.5% pure silver with copper added for strength, and that copper is what causes the gradual darkening you'll see if the ring sits in a drawer unworn. Wearing it daily actually slows the tarnish, because skin oils keep the surface conditioned. Polish with a proper silver cloth every month or two, or for heavier tarnish soak the ring for a minute in warm water with a teaspoon of bicarb on aluminium foil, then rinse and dry.
Take silver off before the pool, spa or beach swim — chlorine and saltwater both accelerate tarnish, and concentrated chlorine can pit the surface. Avoid wearing it in the shower with sulfate-based body washes for the same reason. Store the ring in the small zip-bag it arrives in (or an anti-tarnish strip pouch) to keep it bright between wears.
That's tarnish — silver reacting with sulphur compounds in air, sweat, eggs, onions and rubber bands. It's surface-only and polishes off in seconds with a silver cloth. Wearing the ring daily, rather than leaving it in a drawer, actually slows the process.
It works well for casual and statement rings but is softer than gold, tungsten or titanium, so it picks up dings faster on a manual-work hand. Most NZ buyers wear silver as a fashion or signet ring rather than a daily wedding band — though plenty do choose it for weddings on a budget.
Showering is fine if you avoid sulphate-heavy body washes, but pool chlorine and seawater both accelerate tarnish and can pit the metal over time. Take it off before swimming and store it dry.
Sterling is hypoallergenic for most people. A black mark on the finger underneath is usually a harmless reaction between silver, sweat and acidic foods or medications — it washes off skin and the ring with soap. True silver allergies are very rare; the culprit is almost always the copper alloy or a nickel-plated lookalike.
If you want the bright silver-white look without the tarnishing, compare with white gold rings — same colour family, harder wearing, and no monthly polishing, though at a higher price point. Silver remains the most affordable precious-metal option for men's rings in NZ.

Real heft in the hand. Nothing hollow, no plating to wear through. Same metal day one, day ten thousand.
If the metal cracks or breaks during everyday wear, we replace the ring. Plating and inlays wear naturally and aren't covered.
